The Niagara Grape & Wine Festival celebrates 70 years in style with stylish upgrades, parading puppies and a full month of harvest fun

Downtown St. Catharines will continue to serve as a key community center for grape and wine enjoyment with free admission to the Montebello Park Wine and Food Festival on September 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 and Family Fun Zone on Saturdays and Sundays of these weekends. Park’s age of majority patrons can choose their sips from more than 100 VQA wines paired with dishes from 15 local culinary partners while dancing to a 50-hour live soundtrack Ontario music, including hometown favorites like My Son The Hurricane, The Mandevilles and Jonesy.

The Pied Piper Family Parade Returns September 17, and in partnership with the Lincoln County Humane Society, with see the delicious addition of dogs! Participants in the Pied Piper Parade will have the opportunity to walk their pooches along the route.

The Grand Parade returns September 24with more than fifty marching bands, dance and performance artists animating Downtown St. Catharines. The five neighborhoods selected for showing the greatest Grape & Wine spirit during the 2020 Porch Parade will also be celebrated as part of the Grand Parade festivities.

A foodie favourite, the Discovery Pass Touring program also returns, allowing those who prefer to sip at the source to choose from 24 food and wine pairings at various Niagara wineries on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from September 9e until the end of the month.

New programming, benefits and creative ways to get your grape

The launch of a 30-day lineup for Grape and Wine Month will create a diverse range of new activities for locals and visitors throughout the month of September. Grape and Wine Month programming in the works includes wine and food events at local restaurants, guided outdoor hikes and yoga in the vineyards, interactive wine experiences and wine-themed events hosted by local restaurants. retailers and local arts organizations. The launch of exciting new benefits and locations at Montebello Park will include:

  • The In Good Spirits Lounge, a very stylish cocktail bar located in the historic rose garden of the park, offering delicious drinks with grape-based spirits
  • A Bar Sommelier open to all customers wishing to taste unique and ultra premium VQA wines
  • New VIP cabins, six private glamping tents in the heart of the action, equipped with luxury lounge furnishings and a private sommelier
