An Osoyoos homeowner created a giant snow beast this week.

Linda Walton (no relation to the reporter) was inspired to sculpt the snow in her yard into a boxer-bulldog after seeing an impressive photo online of another dog sculpture.

“And I tried, shall we say, to copy it,” Walton said. “But no – I guess that was my own interpretation.”

It was her first attempt at a large snow sculpture and she did it without any help.

With a high of 3 degrees Celsius in Osoyoos today, January 15, she doesn’t expect it to last much longer.

There could be something in the water of Osoyoos — or possibly its snow — because another townsman decided to carve a large Stegosaurus out of the snow earlier in the week.
