Dogs Trust Shoreham Dog of the Week: Meet Ronnie – a playful young dog who needs a gentle approach

Dogs Trust Shoreham says this excitable young dog lights up at the sight of a tennis ball and loves playing fetch or shoot.

Ronnie isn’t a fan of a lot of hustle and bustle, but often seeks contact by hopping onto his caregiver’s lap for attention.

He is playful but has a sensitive side and is particularly worried when meeting new people.

The charity says it will take patience and a gentle approach to forge a friendship, but its caregivers say taking the time to do so will certainly be worth it.

Ronnie’s perfect match would be an active family who want to join him on an adventure in the quiet, rural countryside, and then provide a chill out space to settle in once back home.

Although Ronnie enjoys socializing with other dogs of similar size and playful nature to his, he is not too comfortable around larger breeds. He could potentially live with a well-adapted small to medium-sized dog and would benefit from gradual introductions with larger dogs to help him gain self-confidence.

Ronnie cannot live with any cats, and all friends must be over 17.

Dogs Trust says this adorable dog is bound to be a fun addition to a family who could support him with extra training and who is always home to keep him company.
